Job Summary

REPORTS TO: Program Director FLSA STATUS : Non-Exempt

SCHEDULE: MON-FRI / 11pm-8am

POSITION SUMMARY:

As Shift Supervisor, it will be your responsibility to handle and care for residents, and all emergency procedures as well as all oversight of the program’s day-to-day operations. As Night Shift Supervisor, it is required that you fill out all paper and computer programs that involve all policy and procedures. These duties apply to the Revive Life House, operated by Revive Ministries, Inc.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To provide leadership and intentional oversight to the clients and other staff within the Revive Life House.
  • To complete and / or improve process and procedures along with program director within Revive Life House.
  • To Supervise the clients and within the Revive Life House and manage & oversee all activities and other duties.
  • Meeting with staff on a regular basis for updates and ministry connections
  • Managing financial resources that are allocated for ministry goals.
  • Be well versed in all policies and rules
  • Ensure they have a working knowledge of all policies and rules as well as any and all duties and tasks.
  • Ensure all clients are trained properly in all aspects of the house policy and procedures
  • Set up and coordinate walk throughs on 30-minute timeframe to be performed every day from 11pm until 8am
  • You will oversee the updating of work and dorm list daily, to include any projects and pertinent work projects ongoing in home.
  • Administrate all drug tests and searches as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.

BACKGROUND/EDUCATION:

  • No restrictions on education.
  • Background in or be familiar and willing to work with men struggling with substance abuse issues.
  • Preferred one year full-time of direct practice (volunteer or paid) in a peer recovery support or similar environment.
  • State driver’s license required.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

Shift supervisors direct the activities of clients during a specific period or shift. This involves working with them to ensure they are in treatment as required, participating in programming or other activities. SKILLS REQUIRED:

    • Must have organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Maintain appropriate boundaries with clients as outlined in Agency Code of Ethics, Relationships with Clients, Former Clients, and Notification
    • Requirements, and other policies while providing peer mentoring and guidance of clients in residential setting.
    • The applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
    • Basic computer skills required.
    • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
    • Physical Considerations: While performing the duties of the job the employee is required to stand, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, ascend and descend stairs, talk or listen in normal conversation levels and lift up to 25 pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

The employee may be required to exert 21 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or 11 to 25 pounds of force frequently, or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Job duties also require about 6 or more hours of intermittent standing or walking in an 8-hour workday. Sitting may be required only intermittently and occasionally. Stooping is usually required frequently.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

He employee will work indoors and outdoors, sometimes in hot and humid weather or very frigid temperatures, depending on the season, in order to supervise the clients in their activities. This may result in bodily discomfort. The house itself is open and ventilated well with central heat and air conditioning. The person may work outside in heat/cold, wet/humid and dry/arid conditions.

MENTAL DEMANDS:

There are a number of daily deadlines associated with this position, which may cause stress to some individuals. The position must deal with the clients daily on a variety of issues.

WORK EXPECTATIONS:

  • Minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Must be able to work well with other staff and clients
  • Some travel required

Any employee wishing to resign is required to furnish a written notice of such intention addressed to the employee’s immediate supervisor and the Human Resources Department. All employees are entitled to all earned, unpaid salary. All termination pay will be distributed to the employee on the next payday following the termination. This position requires 30 days resignation notice.
