Revive Life House – Lexington, KY

REPORTS TO: Executive / Program Director





The Clinical Directors’ main responsibilities include: to be well versed on clinical programs available, policy, procedure and rules to inform clients and their families or other interested entities as much as possible and be able to sell the program to prospective clients versus other programs. They are also responsible for submitting required weekly billing for all services that occur at Revive Life House. These may also include outpatient treatment at Phase 2 as well.


Provides day-to-day clinical leadership, consultation and support in a residential behavioral health setting. This is a managerial position that is responsible for developing and directing a team of professional and support staff to provide quality clinical care.


    • Carry an active caseload of individuals as well as a treatment group within Phase 1, Revive Life House.
    • Carry a partial caseload from Phase 2 Outpatient as needed.
    • Submit weekly reports to Program Director to include weekly staffing as well as billing reports required for insurance purposes.
    • Provide supervision and required documentation to staff as assigned to include Clinicians, Peer Support Specialists and Targeted Case Managers.
    • Monitor and review case management team and ensure all case work is complete.
    • Assist clients to ensure their compliance with individual treatment plans.
    • Serve as On Call contact for Revive Life House as needed.
    • Serve as the contact person for any unresolved family/client issues as well as initial contact for all compliance issues.
    • Participate in the selection, admission, and orientation of clients.
    • Schedule, supervise, and coordinate the activities of case and clinical employees and volunteers.
    • Assist with scheduling all time off requests within Revive Life House.
    • Assist Program/ Executive Director in the hiring and firing of other employees.
    • May be required to fill-in during the absence of the Clinicians, Case Managers or other workers.
    • All other duties as assigned.


    • Assist in developing and implementing policies, procedures and techniques for case and clinical operations according to the CARF standards.
    • Assign, review, and evaluate the work of assigned case and clinical staff; plan and/or conduct orientation programs for new case and clinical employees and train staff.
    • Conduct employee evaluations for direct staff after 30, 60, 90 days and thereafter annually.
    • Review and evaluate the accuracy and thoroughness of centers logs and records, special incident reports, and other pertinent reports. Act as internal auditor for both departments.
    • Monitor client disciplinary board and sign off on all disciplinary actions.
    • Assure that all staff members maintain the confidentiality of all client specific information and data in accord with federal and state guidelines and requirements.
    • Review and evaluate the accuracy and thoroughness of centers logs and records, special incident reports, and other pertinent reports. Act as internal auditor for both departments.
    • Provide consultation to staff on case problems.
    • Communicate with Executive Director / Program Director. on all emergency issues, as well as intervene and/or respond to critical incidents and emergency situations.
    • Assist with all clinical and case staff hiring, rewards, as well as discipline, dismissals and applications.


    • Promote a working environment noted for effective cooperation and a collaboration between programs, services, and co-workers.
    • Present a professional, caring image for center clients, staff and its programs.
    • Maintain a cooperative relationship with other centers staff and co- workers.
    • Demonstrate tact, courtesy, and respect in communication and interaction with clients, visitors, staff and outside agencies and programs.
    • Attend and lead staff and other meetings, in-services, and other events as specified by the Program Director
    • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
    • Assist in planning and facilitating program events.
    • Perform all other job-related duties on an as-needed basis


  • Master of arts or science degree in a behavioral science.
  • Valid Professional License (LCSW, LPCC, LMFT)
  • Preferred but not required; have at least five (5) years of full-time employment experience working directly with adults in a human service setting after completing the educational requirements.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Valid Kentucky driver’s license.


Masters Degree in psychology, social work, or mental health; preference for work experience with the targeted population assigned within the human service setting. Minimum one (1) year of experience post degree working with persons in a human service setting. Adequate communication skills, process verbal and written instructions, dependable, interact effectively with the public and staff, adaptability-able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events, strong sense of commitment.


    • Must have organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
    • Proficiency in all areas of medical billing as they relate to Revive Life House.
    • Proficiency in all AODE, BHSO, CARF and any other applicable governing / auditing agency’s as it applies to Revive Life House.
    • Ability to collaborate with billing department.
    • Communicate effectively in oral and written format.
    • Maintain effective interpersonal relationships.

Must be able to sit, stand, bend, reach overhead and lift up to 10 pounds; travel outside of the office and/or attend meetings both during and after normal work hours, both at or away from the work site.  Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. May involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.  Requires about 6 hours of sitting and no more than 2 hours of standing or walking in an 8-hour workday. No significant stooping is required.


The employee will work indoors in a residential setting with central heat and air conditioning.  The house itself is open and ventilated well with central heat and air conditioning.  The person may work outside in heat/cold, wet/humid and dry/arid conditions during times of community activities for clients.


There are a number of daily deadlines associated with this position, which may cause significant levels of stress to some individuals.  The position must deal with the clients and community representatives daily on a variety of issues.


  • Minimum of 40 hours per week; may be required to work additional evenings and weekends.

  • Some occasional travel required

Any employee wishing to resign is required to furnish a written notice of such intention addressed to the employee’s immediate supervisor and the Human Resources Department. All employees are entitled to all earned, unpaid salary. All termination pay will be distributed to the employee on the next payday following the termination. This position requires 60 days resignation notice.
