RISE UP

“Let no one seek his own good, but the good of his neighbor.” – I Cor. 10:24

One day last week I came across this phrase, “We rise by lifting others up”. This phrase stuck in my mind as I thought on all that God has done in and through Revive in a few short years. I have to admit there are times when I just get caught up in the moment as God is miraculously providing for us once again, and think that somehow all this is normal. I am reminded in those moments that in His Kingdom and as His story unfolds that this is the norm. Matthew 6:33 states, “seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” I believe these are normal Kingdom results simply because we have sought the good of our neighbors, loved God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength, as well as loving our neighbors as ourselves. This is what it means to seek His Kingdom first and not our own.

We have been able to rise up and give God all the glory because we are lifting others up first. I am not just talking about our clients with the Revive Life House, but I am also talking about lifting up our community partners and local churches as well. Praying for them, serving them, loving on them as much as we possibly can we have found that our community is starting to thrive and unity is happening.

Here are a few pictures from our Grand opening of the Adam Lowe Center, our Phase 2 facility that will allow us to extend treatment with 35 beds.

I think we all want to live for something greater than ourselves and we all want to feel a part of something much bigger than the routines of our day to day life. I believe that this is part of what we are called to at Revive. We are called to share God’s story that is unfolding through Revive and invite others to be a part of it. We are by no means the “be all end all” for community transformation and impact, however we cannot deny that we are called to do our part and for that I am grateful.
